Stock water – One gallon water per person, per day
Keep critical medications and eyeglasses at hand
Store non-perishable food
Keep basic first aid kits readily accessible
Procure and store flashlights in easily accessible locations. Do not use candles for alternative lighting as they present a fire hazard
Keep a small battery or hand crank powered radio available to receive emergency information
Keep two extra sets of batteries necessary for any portable devices
Don’t forget a toiletries kit. Soap, toothpaste and brush, and toilet paper can become important necessities
Keep a mobile phone charger accessible
Allocate an emergency credit card and, if possible, at least $100 in cash for emergency situations
